Am I crazy for actually liking that page you linked? I much prefer a site to carefully craft an article much like a paper magazine would, with the presentation given a great deal of thought as well as the content. You get to see high-qual

I think the main issue here is generational. The first generation to grow up with computers permeating many aspects of their lives has left college and entered the workforce in full swing. The internet generation is just about to get there.

It isn't just fullscreen video, it's fullscreen anything . Anything that doesn't exhibit that behavior is using a fullscreen "hack," i.e. the way they did it before Lion.

I'm not sure this discussion applies to MVC as easily as you're making out. It's a design pattern, not a code pattern. Let's make it more general, though. How would a language that "gets rid" of the problem of modular code look like? That i

Isn't MVC a specific case of "make your code modular"? I don't have as much confidence that I can imagine a language getting rid of that.

The "keys instead of notations" idea is neat, but it makes it a little more difficult to visually parse, and more importantly, it ignores other keyboard layouts. For such a small article it's not a big deal, but if this were a larger list,

I've always used Ctrl-[. It's there in all Vim installs, doesn't conflict with anything else that I know of, and is a quick, no-glance pinky shift for both hands (assuming you remap your Capslock to Control). Edit: Ninja'd by top-level comm

My parents run a property management business and they generally charge $100 of rent after the first month. You have to have a pretty high mortgage or a pretty undesirable property (i.e. have to take low rent) for that to cut into your posi

Agree with this so much. So many people view Getting Things Done as an infomercially, buzzwordy system when it's really just a set of "best practices" for everyday thinking. You can consider it and take away whatever works for you, and it's
