On the other hand the fake niceness of some workplaces is just as repugnant. And it makes it harder to find out where you stand and what needs to be done. I fully agree there is no need for hostility in the workplace and it shouldn't b

I don't know why you are getting downvoted. I'm not personally crazy about SQL Server, but a lot of big companies are. In this situation some of us find ourselves in from time to time, SQL Management Studio is pretty handy.

Given that national news seems little more than tired and ridiculous propaganda (for the last decade and a half at least) whatever happens to the outlets is of little concern to me.

I'd venture that less of the money from shareholder distributed income is spent on goods and services than that of employee wages. Particularly, as another poster pointed out, locally.

I actually wanted to see his daily routine. But the narrative ended at 9:00 AM. He gets up early and meditates for hours. (impressive). And he listens to the news at some unspecified time (so what?). Where's the rest of the routine?

Wasn't there an article a week or so ago about China's one child policy, and how there wouldn't be enough workers to take care of the older generation? Well... which is is? Too many workers or not enough workers?

I don't agree that people forcing themselves to take interest in things they aren't interested in is healthy. There are all kinds of people in the world. Very smart ones are a rarity.
