I have absolutely no idea why PD doesn't have a big button which stops all PD notifications the moment you press it. There are very few events in life more stressful then dealing with an incident, people on the call and having your pho

I find this mildly funny. My wife goes with a purse or that tiny backpack everywhere and sometimes I give her my stuff to carry. Mobile phones are getting too goddamn big.

You have to do the same in Croatia too. So no wonder nobody protests. Hell, I had to apply for a same permit to organize a very small LAN party in one of the college's classrooms.

I can also echo this. The prices of groceries that I'm buying doubled in price in the last year. Some even tripled. I'm not sure where are they pulling low double digits in my country, but that's just not my experience.

Even on the pages you've linked, Software or Computer Engineering is still Engineering. You might say that it just doesn't fit the definition (from the same exact page), but then you can either take the argument with the Wikipedia

I think your definition of engineering is a curious mix of "No true Scotsman" fallacy and a bit of circular reasoning. My parents were very respected traffic engineers. One was concerned with traffic inside cities, another with ro

I would say that both you and the parent are right. Software engineering is both new, and non-standard. So we get worst of both worlds, on one hand there are no good truly standard practices, and on the other the technology is very complex

Or if instead of Nigeria you want more “civilized” examples, look no further than Eastern European governments. Here in Croatia some years ago a statistic came out that we have 4 times more government employees than Germany. Just for compar

I’m not sure what you mean. USA and Croatia have extradition treaty. Also Croatia’s government has good relations with their masters across the pond. The guy is already arrested, and I’m sure he’ll be on a flight west soon.

I come from an engineering family, and "engineers" here are one big legally recognized tribe, or pretty much a social class. In reality that just means that they've finished a specific college where they get "engineer wi
