Point taken. But I can't help but be reminded of this: http://xkcd.com/373/ Anyone who feels tricked that there were no aliens found doesn't have their head on straight :) By your rationale, would anything be called Astrobiology?

I couldn't disagree more. Astrobiology researchers made this finding. If you think it's not astrobiology take it up with NASA.

I think this finding deserves a bit more respect. Of course it does not answer ALL of our questions, but it proves DNA does not need phosphorus! AMAZING!

The debate should be about the ethics of privacy and HOW it is being violated, not WHY. Suppose it was proven to help national security, suppose it was scientifically proven safe, would its use be palatable? There is a question over what pr

The issue is one of privacy. These corruption accusations detract from the heart of the matter. Would it be a "win" if the scanners were all removed because of corruption? No, the point is the acknowledgement of the rights of the individu

This is a great point. After a few minutes of thought, the biggest benefactor of natural language coding would be what I'd call late-bloomers: people who always thought like coders, but never actually did programming.

Interesting read. I think one of the biggest challenges is identifying you're in a slump in the first place. My tactic is to always maintain a list of things that I wish I did more of, and as soon as I figure out I'm in a slump, I pick some
