Technical debt is just business debt, it’s risk to the business if people don’t understand it or it’s hard to maintain. Technical debt is a terrible term because it implies it’s just a technical problem, but it’s a business decision.

It feels like this is trying to solve the wrong problem. People aren't asking for a new document standard or a new browser. If you follow the money, you'll find that most of Mozilla's money comes from Google. Most of Google&#

Since that job advert hasn't been removed yet, I'm guessing it's not by accident. That being the case, I imagine that sometimes these things get lost in translation in large corporations and don't literally mean what you

You can’t plan for what you don’t know. This is why I like the "Rule of three"[1]. Only once you've done it three times will you truly begin to understand what the abstraction might need to look like. 1. https://wa

Kanban is effectively this. It works to an extent, but then someone somewhere usually has an abstracted concept of priority, otherwise you end up with priority as per the "highest paid person's opinion".

Much of this is only from the perspective of the consumer, a developer. What businesses want is a way to be able to track progress and communicate priority. The difficulty for the the business is how they communicate their priority to you

The BBC's approach to this has so far worked out as the best here and continues to provide its the correct approach. I think there's always been a lot to be said for good, static sites, and there still is.
