I can understand someone believing that this is how the world is, but I can’t see why you’d phrase it in such a nasty way.

I don’t think tech comes out better on this scale than the happiness one.

Fake food images are literally fraud. I’m also having trouble believing that this is a passion project for friends and family based on your 90% comment.

That’s a good point to being up. Apple’s entire pile of cash is just under three years of Google payments. This tells me Apple’s been spending the money on other things. “Replace Google Search” probably isn’t high on their list of prioritie

I’d think better algorithms. A detailed scan of a city’s streets and layout is obsolete before it’s completed. A driver (bot or not) needs very good reactions to bad situations observed in the field. And ideally a good sense for when a situ

I’m reasonably sure I’ve done things like that. I wouldn’t need the mirror check because I would already know what’s there during the right turn. However I would personally aim to stay dead center in lane to reduce the skateboarder’s uncert

I think that’s got a similar bias as the original, unfortunately. All deleted indices between K and N (K<N) will result in picking N, and the number of such deletions would vary wildly between individual articles.

That’s very, very ambitious. I think, in the help systems I’ve seen with multiple languages, each language example is written by hand. I personally have some related ideas for a personal project but haven’t gotten anything done on it.

I’m shocked at the method for picking a random page. It’s guaranteed to produce permanent biases in the randomization and lots of path dependence in how individual articles’ chances change over time. Picking a random int from 1 to N is not

Nit: Basically all stories have a form like that. (I _think_ detective stories specifically choose for the protagonist to want societally-sanctioned retribution. The protagonist then has to publicly demonstrate that the antagonist deserves

This is why I said that "Netflix et al discovered that shows become more costly to make" in the GP, but thanks for providing a reference.

This was also the period where Netflix et al discovered that shows become more costly to make and less likely to get brand-new subscribers around season 3. So it’s hard for me to give that statistic any weight.

Only a handful of polities, in practice, would need to agree on a strong response - the US, China, the EU, and maybe India and Russia.

That's a reasonable observation, but there's a big distinction between "aren't the ones who work" and "obsolete". My experience makes me think that people very much do _not_ want to be obsolete, and that b

I’ve had these experiences in the days when IRC was still a thing, and there were very heavy doses of idealization and fantasizing involved. I believe that is typical but I can’t be sure.

Board game organizers are my source of interest. Kickstarter-type games, especially, often need more efficient organizers than the designers included in the box. And it’s very difficult (in my experience) to get useful off-the-shelf organiz

Is there any support for this bill or is it just a random NY legislator proposing a bill with no actual support or plan for getting it passed? EDIT: It looks like this bill is in committee and only has one sponsor, so I am thinking no, but

I consider them much worse than that. Header files are explicitly a copy-paste of the included text file into your source. There’s no rule that they have to only contain declarations, or that they have to appear at the top of source files,

Almost all self-help books have this flaw. I think most of them won’t sell without providing something that looks like a solution. But to get that solution, they dress up the author’s badly-founded personal beliefs as final truth, support t
