I saw a claim at the time that a handful of employees rallied everyone else to sign the letter and post support on Twitter. Between that and Altman reportedly having a vindictive streak, I'm thinking the actual employee support was pap

It's a challenging problem. The whole of Web 2.0 is built on lowering scaling costs as far as possible. The trust problem is itself very big - if someone makes the modern equivalent of the Yahoo directory, how do they establish trust t

Aside from the apples-to-oranges claim that a chatbots teaches you more than a search engine, it's extremely unlikely that AI will remain ad-free. Ads seem to be at a local minimum of the information economy and I don't see how ch

The federalist system is more complicated than that. To justify taking a case to the federal court system, it has to affect relations between US states, relations between any US entity and a foreign entity, events and actions that take plac

> I'd expect legality to be handled for me, inherited from the parent company. That sounds like a really bad idea for many many reasons. Lawyers are cheap compared to losing control, or even your stake, to legal shenanigans.

I'm guessing the ones who actually left Reddit did what I did - they disengaged from the site and then deleted all their content and accounts. It's pointless to complain without any actual power. The relevant stakeholders here are

Marketing, sales, market testing, and doing what customers want are inherently messy processes. I think people who spend too much time immersed in purely technical work start to think that messy processes are inherently wrong, because there

If the AI doesn't get the mechanics right, and you have subtle game-breaking bugs that make it impossible to complete, you will never be able to fix it.

I have exactly the same question. I'm most likely to switch to Linux; I've heard that game support is a lot better than it used to be, and Valve has given developers an extra incentive to be compatible with Linux because of the St

I'm usually somewhat understanding of this kind of thing, but this should be a local app only doing local things, not validating content with the cloud for safety. Not only does that mean that MS is putting a filter gate on your own co

What is endearing and admirable as the underdog very easily becomes contemptible abuse in the biggest dog of the pack. It's not a contradiction - the hacking spirit is a trait that causes more damage the more power you have.

I think the real problem with the OP's straw-proposal interpolation method is that it's stateless and doesn't need to be. I would instead record the start position, then interpolate along a function F(t) to the end position.

That story is bonkers. I don't know how any student of chemistry mistakes a rocky crumbly cream-colored solid for an extremely hazardous red-orange liquid with a literal aura of evil wafting off of it.
