What is this I don't even?! Haskell is Haskell, math is math, category theory is category theory. They are not the same, even if they have some things in common. Deal with it.

I have hard time understanding why browers' parsing algorithms should be standardized or why it's a good idea to do so. Shouldn't a language be defined declaratively using a grammar?

> Expressions separated by the comma operator are always evaluated left to right. That's correct (for C), but I feel the need to add that in function calls the parameters are separated by commas, and they can be evaluated in any order.

"Never ascribe to malice that which is adequately explained by incompetence" When I first learned to program (err, actually just to press buttons in an IDE, anyway), I had a "great" idea how you could make a site like Facebook, just simpler

Do you know if there is a way to quickly jump to a specific window in Opera, with a strings search, like in Vimperator? This would be really nice.

My bank password is 4 digits. But they ask another, one shot 4 digit password from a table they've sent to you when you actually move money. I thought all banks did this?

Last time I tried SBCL on FreeBSD, the binary package didn't have threads enabled, and when I compiled it from ports, the configuration dialog had me enable the threading manually and said it was "experimental".

No it can't. Browser is pretty much the only platform where you have to use a certain language.

Extensibility of the type without breaking existing code. When you add or remove a case from an algebraic data type, you pretty much need to modify all functions that operate on it since they contain patterns that mention the data-construct

There is no need for (implementation) inheritance just to use dynamic dispatch. Many languages provide mechanisms for dynamic dispatch without needing to use inheritance. Also, you can certainly have encapsulation even in pure C with proper

Sufficiently Smart Compiler(tm) should be able to optimize `case` that switches only on a known set of symbols pretty well. Certainly not necessary to do hash-lookup.

Common Lisp does this and it's not restricted to being interpreted, you just have to include compiler, linker etc. as part of the language runtime.

Uh oh, I wouldn't want anyone to copy anything that has to with typesystem from Go before they tell how they are going to have typesafe containers without generics. Haskell typeclasses would be a better source of inspiration IMNSHO.
