I don't think anyone is arguing that regulation can't and has never been used to stifle competition. It's fine to be skeptical but that can't be a reason to keep the status quo. What would a solution look like for you? W

Third-party apps (e.g. budgeting apps) take users' credentials to login and scrape the screen. Open banking is about banks providing APIs instead.

How so? Giving your banking credentials to a third-party for it to login and screen-scrape is not secure. Mandating that banks provide an API instead for third-party apps to use won't necessarily 'regulate new entrants out of busi

Why does the elimination have to be 100% and the privacy erosion be 0 for it to be worthwhile? To be clear I'm not saying that Apple are right to do this or that there aren't privacy concerns. What I am saying is that those thresh

This is a confusing take. Which states dropped the ball on Covid and let it run rampant? Which ones have handled it near-flawlessly? By 'red-state equivalents' do you mean the ones with Liberal Premiers? If so that would seem like

I think it has to be pointed out that the other side of this is that there have been very few serious illnesses and deaths due to Covid. I'll take that over better post-infection societal immunity due to so many having had the disease.

Why is it ironic? The system may be bad, or it may not be, but the fact that it is virtually impossible to survive completely outside it is not evidence of it being bad or not.
