I love this. I have read it a few times in the last years. This and Never Quit If [1] from Jason Lemkin have been essential for me to keep pursuing and never stop building my startup [2]. [1] https://www.saastr.com/never-qui

I find it incredible that MediaStream Recording is still not out there on WebKit. They have taken so long to ship this. There's an open ticket[1] since 2012, and we still don't really know if they will implement this for sure on 2

Very interesting to read how they were able to overcome their performance issues and didn't know they were such a small but effective team. For us at Standups[1] RN has been just instrumental. As a small team, we are able to ship featu

Thanks Jerome. And sure, no worries. I thought you’d probably had a few people working remotely apart from the office :)

Super cool guys. Congrats on the launch. You're touching on a big pain. Will most definitely give it a try within our upcoming re-design of our app. [1] By the way, if you're a remote team, I'm happy to talk with you guys and

Congrats! This looks really great and will enable many people to shorten the dev cycle and lower the entry barrier for many startups to create their first app. I coded myself a whole mobile version of our platform[1] using React Native and

Forgot to add also the guy from SimpleAnalytics, he's doing exactly the same with documentation [1] in his app. [1] https://docs.simpleanalytics.com/

Seems we're both in the same boat! Exactly. If on live demos, they go like "wow, didn't know this case". That's exactly what you should go write after. I have a huge list of things to write about. Hope you enjoy the

Thanks for sharing this guide. It's fitting like a ring to finger as I am in the process of setting up documentation for the features of my app [1] because I realized that as an early-stage startup one of the best ways to teach your us

The benefits you get from implementing asynchronous communication with your organization are huge. This is exactly why I felt the need to resign from my job last year to go build a platform that is designed from the ground up to support thi

I love Gatsby. We are about to release a new landing version of https://Standups.io entirely with it. Blog and help center. We got rid of intercom guide :) Parse.ly also just released their new landing page all done with Gatsby.

First off, congrats on creating something on your own, and making it to the top of HN. It's not many people that get here by doing something on their own. I must say that for my sporadic needs, this would be still too basic. My go-to t

Remote work is here to stay, and love it when more companies and software products join in and start contributing to making it easier to work this way.

Love it, and more companies should make it as evident and public as they are doing it today with the announcement. Remote work is here to stay, and certainly the future, and one of the main reasons I am now working full-time in the space wi

Sure, happy to expand on it. You're right, as a video service, we cannot do everything through them, we use our own encoder service with AWS Lambda, and manage users through a NodeJS app. And Netlify is a very important part of our sta

We use Netlify for https://standups.io and we still are not paying a penny for their service. It works for our different environments, creates deploy previews out of every branch, supports split testing, and we even use it as a

This somehow will have to change. The top grossing iOS app (Tinder.app) somehow is not really complaining about this though, but that's because most their revenue comes from the iOS in app purchases.

I'd say Apple's iOS apps are mostly the best, and sadly also because of access to private APIs. Never really digged the über dark theme of Spotify, used to be less dark —and nicer to my taste— when I started using it back in 2008

Love the design, and how it structures your bookmarks in a familiar way for me, as I love using boards / columns for structuring and organizing my tasks and work in general :)

Hope you are able to do that. I guess at your point it's getting a few more clients via different scrappy ways (cold outreach, etc), and keep using their feedback/behavior to improve the product.
