After scanning through most of the PDF, the Release Notes are mostly superior. JM provides some decent info though, and the checklist at the end will be useful to people. Worth 12 bucks probably.

Official version is here: http://github.com/jeremyevans/sequel Lots of good docs here: http://sequel.rubyforge.org/ For anything SQL, Sequel is to me the best of breed library. Blows ActiveRecord away at anything. I used to like DataMap

Good article. While this was almost surely gov sponsored, it would be cool if this turned out to be a literal "killer startup". I'd love to see a startup that killed terrorists as a service. They could probably pull in decent revenue, and i

Oh please... this better be optional . If they force this into Android's OS, I'm gonna be pissed. I'm already happily living a flash free lifestyle

Huh? It's just a wrapper around an Ratom parser. Not much to see here yet.

Good stuff. I switched from a long time C# guy at MS (pre .net 1.0) to Ruby / Mac about 5 years ago. Haven't regretted it, but still love to see what the team comes out with. Microsoft pumps a ton of money into their dev tools, and they pro

I pay github for a private repo I rarely use, however I really depend on them for my development as all the open source libraries and documentation I use are stationed there. I don't see switching to something else as an alternative. So wha

I gotta admit, it looks a lot better than the iPad. Same price and better screen. And even though I thought JooJoo was a retarded name a few months ago (and still do), it's still a better name than the iPad.

I've always hated C++ as a language syntax, but I'm coming around. rubinus, llvm, and mongo all use it and their codebases are really well built. So maybe the language isnt so bad after all, as long as you have geniuses using it.

Was disappointed by lack of multitasking. Already ditched my iPhone for Android, and the difference is huge. Is this going to be another thing with Apple like the single mouse button? Seems like they are really trying to stick to their guns

Useless indicator without counting in international returns. Money is money, no matter which country it comes in from. Still, it has to do about 30% better than Titanic (which did well overseas), so it has a ways to go.

Seriously, any company still forcing IE6 on their employees should be reported to the government and taxed. These stupid corporate IT decisions are impacting everyone, and there needs to be regulation. Its no different than if the company w

attr_protected / attr_accessible is the lamest workaround in rails. Tons of overhead and potential bugs just so you can have a one line controller. Better idea: just set the attributes you want explicitly in the controller. Then your forms

I see developers and power users switching over in droves. Android is advancing much faster than iPhones on the tech side. I do think it'll unseat the iPhone in market share within a few years.

Alpha release maybe. I'd estimate at least 6 months between the first alpha release and the final. Yehuda's been pretty clear that he wants all the plugins to be updated and working with the new public api before they go final on 3.0

Pretty slick. Wish it worked better in TextMate though. I'll keep this in my toolbox, but for now I think it's better to think outside the box with something like HAML which can capture these shortcuts in your actual code, so its easier to
