I can't give exact numbers, but we have a conversion rate in the (very) low single digits. It's plenty to support our costs and development team though (we're purposefully optimised for a healthy cash-flow positive business,

I'd guess that the rendering is done client side here and can be done with partial updates. ShareLaTeX and Overleaf have to do a full LaTeX pass on the server just to show the change of a small part of the document.
