Do you think that Rust (or any other language that compiles to wasm) will become preferred over traditional JS for single page applications and Electron desktop apps? Would there be any advantages to this, or would it be an overkill? My tho

So your framework works on DOM? I thought that WASM - DOM interop is not so great and generally WASM apps would work by doing their own rendering on canvas, skipping DOM.

For me working with different languages and seeing different codebases helped a lot. I have always been a solo dev, I have some 6 years of experience, including 3 years getting paid for it. However, up until 1 year ago, I knew only PHP and

To me Mac OS has a nicer looking UI, but i3 has better UX. For instance, the animations on Mac OS are annyoing. There is nothing good about adding a delay to basic operations. On i3, I can switch between workspaces in an instant, on Mac OS,

For a developer / power user Linux Desktop is years ahead of Mac OS. I recently bought a Macbook for testing and given how shiny it is, I had the thought to consider using it as a daily computer, but I could not switch because of the o

> This is an upside for the developer only. And a downside for the user as the GUI will probably not be consistent with its OS. Depends on how you look at it. I'm building an app and if it was not for Electron and web technologies,

27,000 light years in just 20 years. This is crazy, I never would have thought these relativistic effects have such impact. I guess we could create a travel into the future this way if the rocket was designed to eventually come back to Eart

So basically it can install itself after clicking a link in a web browser. I know it's very hard but could the browsers be improved so that something like this is virtually impossible?

It's definitely possible to do malpractice when you are it alone. I never had a teacher and I did get burned on misinterpretations. Though looking back, it doesn't seem to be a big deal, but it did cause me some suffering. 2 major

I work on something which will either be a side project for CV or a small business if I'm lucky - in either case most of the work at the time relates to development. On a typical week I put 30 - 40h into it (I don't work full time

There's a difference between working on your own stuff vs. working purely to trade time for money as an employee. Sometimes you can have both I guess , but I think it's the exception, not the norm.
