That's because Apple is the only hardware provider for Mac OS X. If you just want Windows or Linux, you have a lot of choices. If you want OS X, there's no choice but to put up with whatever hardware Apple gives you.

Yeah, only problem is you could in fact, change it. And then they removed that feature, long before it ran on a separate low power IC. That's for Android phones. I'm actually not sure they run it from a separate IC anyway, like th

I played with it when you could replace the godawful "OK Google" phrase with your own. It was pretty useless. I'm never saying "OK Google". Siri, Cortana, etc are a bit better but why not let people personalize that

Funny how the LTSC version is the only Windows version that works best as a standalone desktop OS, where you install the software you want and no updates will break your configuration every half a year. But of course it's not recommend

Haha, I'll admit I did this with several accounts. It was even possible to build up a good feedback by buying cheap stuff. Then start to sell whatever you want. Easy way to avoid the ridiculous holds on funds and limited PayPal account

Routers at least are easy-ish to pick. I just look up the specs of the chipset inside that specific revision of the model (yeah, bit of a pain), and make sure it works with OpenWRT or some other custom firmware. Stock firmware often doesn&#

I've read about it years ago. Nice concept but if you have line of sight, WiFi with directional antennas is still better, you can get the standard 802.11g speeds (~20Mbps real throughput) at even longer range and/or in worse weath

I still have a Canon Mx925, with all the bells and whistles (photo/CD/card printing, high resolution scanner, ADF, etc). Great machine. 150 Euros. Also bought a HP Envy 5020 for £40 for scanning and label printing, printed over a
