Makes me wonder if having votes trickle _up_ the thread that produced them would make for a useful experiment?

This was one of the first problems I tackled as a developer. My naive approach was to calculate the values of the offers independently, pick the top one, and then continue to try to apply remaining offers. Obviously, it's not the optim

Yes, so you have a lock on the door that you can only manipulate from your room. Unlock it when you need to use the bathroom, lock it otherwise.

That thought occurred to me, too, but I realized that you could add locks that could only be locked from the bedroom sides.

I've been using repl.it for a couple of (or more, I suppose) years now, and it's been very helpful to have a simple, reliable REPL to jump into, test things out, and to share code. I've turned students and colleagues to it, t

I'm curious as to why you even used a server at all. From the looks of it, you could have shipped the server code with the frontend and saved some bandwidth.

Holy history, Batman! I dragged the sliders around for a minute, and my browser history was completely decimated by identically-named entries. Maybe replace the existing state rather than pushing the new one?

If you're not using HMR and you're worried about iteration time, you're missing the biggest win. The time it takes to transpile a function is negligible. http://matthewlehner.net/react-hot-module-replacement-w

The person you replied to already pointed out that the difference has no bearing on their ability to do the work in question, and that, as such, men and women should be treated equally in that area. >Where those biological differences ar

I was skeptical at first, but after reading through how it works and why it was done, I love it. In fact, it would have made quite a few bugs much easier to track down.

I discovered early on that, at least in larger companies, advancement in a role is based on your strategic value to the company, and not even remotely related to your work ethic. If your manager is willing to go to bat for you, you stand a

This is common, but it shouldn't be. If you have setup scripts to run each service, or if they're containerized, it's just a little additional work to get to where you can spin them up with a single command.

I used KeePass on Windows, and I use KeeWeb on Mac. KeeWeb is fast to search, allows for the inclusion of arbitrary data and tags, has a password generator, and it does autotype, which is nice. Also, it's open source. http://

I went from Redux to MobX in one of my recent projects and it was a breath of fresh air. It's so much easier to work with, and more performant in my situation, too.

I enjoyed RethinkDB a lot. Sad to see the business go belly-up. Have you evaluated Couchbase? I've been looking for an excuse to try it, but I usually just fall back on Postgres.
