Wow, Tom really did nail it! You guys really went all out to explain the ways things did work and how they work now with OpLog. You guys need to keep these posts coming!

Interesting, we haven't really run into big asset ordering issues, we tend to stick jquery plugins and libraries in /lib or /client/lib

Yeah, I've been super happy since switching to it. Javascript still has it's ugly warts, but overall I think time to develop apps has dropped dramatically!

I think it will be a pretty sizeable jump (100% growth?). I expect the next 0.8 release will make a lot of noise when they leave Handlebars behind and really ramp up the rendering engine side of things.

Nah, we were really just talking about this today. We use minimongoid and we are using the has_many/belongs_to and I was curious how other people handled joins outside of the page. ;)

Awesome to see them grow! We just helped them hire a dev with our Differential Connect program too ( http://differential.io/connect )

Scaling anything is hard to achieve, especially when you are also trying to build a business around an idea. Scaling is usually a problem you solve after you become more popular. My original article about Meteor and Rails wasn't about

Wow, timely, I was just talking to some friends of mine about this tonight at a happy hour. As a developer, this is always where I fall down - I never want to talk to people. I avoid this task like the plague and I think it hurts my attem

I would love to see more on how you do marketing, for sure.

What kind of marketing efforts do you put into each app? I've been working on an iOS landing page generator and I would be curious to get your thoughts on it @DaveSapien: http://bit.ly/carp-hn .

The list looks interesting, but it seems like you are asking for features for apps?

I think you really missed the point on that. I barely keep my profile updated on LinkedIn and they are trying to spur the community to update their profiles to be more relevant to what they are doing now. That isn't desperate, just a

No, I love the insight! Thanks for replying with all this, we will take a look at these things. We've built 15 production apps and we are still learning every day.

I have also been trying to curate lists and I use tweetbot to easily switch between them. I find it is a great way to catch up on one community segment or another. I wish twitter made list building easier.

Yeah, My mind initially had trouble accepting the changes in how to think about data and reactivity, but I think it has been worth it in the end. Very much a "there is no spoon" type of moment.

Yes, I remember rails going through this same "growing pains" of leaving a lot of stuff up to the developers. I look forward to the ride Meteor will provide and see where it gets.

Google appends a ?_escaped_fragment_= onto the url and the spiderable package serves up a copy of the article from phantomjs. See http://differential.io/blog/thank-you-dhh-and-others?_escape...

Yeah, the next release will have OpsLog support for MongoDB and it will help tremendously with scaling if you are willing to figure out how to get OpsLog working for Mongo.

Thanks, I hadn't seen that, I will look into it. I know the new Meteor UI release that is forth coming actually solves the very issue of rerendering too much of the page when you update one thing.

You are correct, we are tracking open DDP connections to the server inside the node.js backend meteor gives us.

Yeah, we implemented it naively in a few hours one night this week, we plan to go back and do a deeper sidebar listing our urls.

We are actually lacking a loading screen, so you are just seeing the header and footer mashing together while the content loads.

We are tracking realtime readers in the sidebar and plan to start doing inline commenting and passage favoriting. I also think it is cool that I can fix typos realtime while people are reading.

What you are seeing is the lack of a loading screen while data is pulling down. We haven't done a ton of testing via 3g, but we will work on that more.
