Can someone give a solid and succinct review of doing this as a side-job? What was 1) the hourly pay, 2) language(s) you reviewed, and 3) how was the work?

I agree with your analysis that this is a core issue, but something that bothers me with these discussions is: > If you are a major power with the capability to make 100K+ killer drones "The major power" is the people that make

Subsidizing a bad thing so more people can do it doesn't make it a good thing. I also eat meat, but the main argument here is "let's have meat prices more accurately reflect the cost and let the market adjust accordingly"

I think they're expensive exactly for that reason - people have to factor in the risk that someone would be totally legally justified to come and take all their stuff tomorrow. Those are also actual products with a true value to people

This is an important point - I think a lot of us tech people like to think "no it only exists on the internet the govt can't touch it! It's like international waters!", but then you have countries that can completely res

I like the look for the web, I think it'd be really cool if there was a "publish to markdown" option. It could even include CSS at the bottom so it would render the same way it does now, but then the docs in github would rend

I've been a fan of Svelte and Vercel for a while so it's cool to see Rich working with them, and for Svelte to get more support. Very excited to see what comes of this!

How are the motivations and risks different? The motivation seems like "country wants more information to use against people" and the risk is that they do it. At least in recent history (~50 yrs) the US has done way more damage gl

I think you can both say you'd rather live in the US, and at the same time our intelligence agencies do just as much (if not more) damage worldwide. For example if you live in South America the US is a much bigger risk to you than othe

I think what's going on is slightly different and adds value to the conversion - as far as I've seen the speaker is acknowledging an objective truth about something that has historically or otherwise been seen more subjectively. T

You can do this in VSCode with glob patterns to limit the search directory, e.g. "Find 'foobar' within './path/to/deep/directory/*/*.txt'"

I just wanted to add that reality being a non-discrete geometric thing is still an assumption - we don't know for sure that it isn't discrete and a lot of quantum stuff points more toward a discrete reality than a continuous one.

I think a good (or at least simple) solution for this problem is to increase taxes on non-primary residences, as a simple case the tax rate could be: 20% + 10%/extra house So if you own 9 houses you're paying 100% in taxes, making
