Brilliant! I'm curious to know: How did you ramp up your marketing so fast to get employers and developers to the site on short notice? (Other than posting to HN, of course!)

I know the feeling, and yes, it itches! Every red-blooded engineer wants to switch technologies and find new challenges every few years. So, a few months ago, we launched a site to scratch the itch for ourselves and others who are experien

It's just a name. But when recruiters revamp their techniques, treat both the developer and the employer as their customer, and use the communication technology that respects people's time (e.g., not spam of any sort), then you ha

All these seem to be within the general level of intrusiveness seem in the US: Easy access to metadata, security cameras, etc. You haven't convinced me that the situation is much different in Israel as compared to the US (or the UK, f

Sure, Careers 2.0 is good. The jobs space is _very_ big, plenty of space for everyone. Among other differences, Careers 2.0 focuses on StackExchange karma, which is useful, but not everyone wants to go in that direction.

How did that work? Usually user groups are independent initiatives by developers, with at most a room or minor funds provided by a sponsoring company or two. Companies can't keep their employees from going to the Ruby/Java/C++ User Group i

The right not to incriminate yourself is a basic civil right. The Fifth Amendment is a codification of the right, which was given to you, as our Founding Fathers saw it, by the laws of nature. The Amendment may refer only to some circumstan

It's totally OK to leave. There is no need to "finish" complete projects which can take years. Just take care to finish off the current phase of each project -- you'll have to decide in context what that means -- and hand off to colleages.

Good question. First, it's for developers and other IT pros, not executives. It's for introducing people, not a full-service search firm. Employers send quick screening question to candidates. The workflow is designed to be very quick, eas
