I recommend everyone take a look at ECS patterns. This is incredibly easy in $CURRENT_YEAR. Give it a dockerfile / image and CDK deploy: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/cdk/api/v2/docs/aws-cdk-lib.aws_..

This looks very cool I might consider using it! The way I'm setting up Mongo for my project[1] is that all items go into a single collection and use a multi key index on a `target` array so queries look like this: { $and: [ { target: {

Like many of you I was very skeptical of this at first but it truly is amazing. An example today came from having many time stamps throughout the week, grouped by days, in a FE react project where each grouping has a property “isInThePast”.

Wanted to add on to this as it has a lot of useful info. Be very very sure before you create a C corp if you do go this route. Prepare to pay around $500 in incorporation fees, $400 Delaware franchise fees [1], ~$500 misc filing fees (forei

Thanks for the feedback, we debated back and forth on letting people register the base path ie "/jose" but we didn't want the overlapping conflicts with any other pages we might have on the site. We also wanted the links

My team and I are about to launch Talk With Me[1] which would allow you to book video calls with people and accept payments for those sessions easily. You can claim your custom URL right now and we hope to launch in the next few days. Here&

+1 on AWS and RDS. You can get $1k credits via AWS Activate[0] just by having a website. There is a free tier for RDS (take note of the instance type and size!) and even then a T4G micro is $12 / mo [1]. E= Setting this up with CDK is

Have you run into any quirks while developing? I did, this one was especially annoying: https://github.com/serverless/serverless/issues/3785 Some other quirks: - 29 second timeout on API Gateway despite lambd

$480 to process 66 request per second.. lol Even the smallest fargate task @ .25 CPU & 256mb of memory can do double that no problem, and for only like $30 WITH a load balancer. You get all the benefits of lambda, you keep your existin

Similar, but think more for "one off" events for now, we plan to add more "cron" like functionality in the future. Instead of having EventBridge trigger a lambda to poll your DB every hour for users that signed up 24 hou

Sure! Regarding the backend we're essentially adding events into a queue and polling the queue for messages that are ready. Since this is an MVP we don't have any scaling or delivery guarantees but from our testing all of our ev

If an error occurs on our end while processing it, we will keep retrying for a while. If an event fails to POST to your endpoint it'll have a failedAt time for when it failed. We are adding customizable retries soon, as well as docs an

I think the BSL license is a good compromise for businesses looking to protect their IP, and after a year release everything under MIT or Apache. As long as they keep innovating, the latest and greatest will always come from the code author
