Wonder how sustainable Digital Ocean's pricing is in the longer term.

Sounds like you would be better picking up a decent transit locally to you with a good blend of upstreams.

No. Linode use IP space provided by the upstream they use at each location.

This article was posted in response to the outage in April 2011, but still the learnings are worth repeating.

LastPass don't store your passwords per se. Your passwords are SHA256 hashed locally. I love their system, but I think LastPass don't do a good enough job of explaining the security behind the system to those who are a bit more skeptical.

Yes the notes in the original pastebin post kind of indicated it was an issue with a "customer support" control panel, maybe it's just another method or area using the Linode Manager. I just wish they posted a little more, it feels vague.

Thanks for this clue. I've been bashing my head trying to work out why my adwords account recently got suspended. I haven't used it in 4 years, however one of the domains I was advertising is still mine, but just goes to an error page now.

From the article: > Linode http://linode.com - expensive, no IPV6, really fast network @ 11.9 Mbps Actually Linode have IPv6 support in 5 of their 6 locations :-)

Are you saying that bandwidth prices that you pay in the market aren't reflective of the actual costs to the provider?

They will only light it up as it's purchased, which leads to supply / demand / pricing. The cost of lighting it up front is prohibitive and pointless to some degree as it depends on what the cables customers will need. That being said, anot

It's pretty likely that AU will have more expensive pricing than most places. Amazon doesn't enter a market and ignore the cost base that applies to everyone in the market place.

That completely depends on your ISP and how they run their network. Decent providers should be directly connected into the right asian places.

Yes the iPad is still without a flash viewer. The recently released Adobe Flash Media Server 4.5 will stream to iOS devices by delivering an HTML5 rendering from my understanding of their press release.

Nice tip on runbox.com. I've been compiling a list of places that I could move to and use my own domain. So far I had: lavabit.com fastmail.fm zoho.com domains.live.com Might give them all a go and report back in a Jekyll created blog post
