Isn't this the purpose of the secure enclave on iPhones? Taking the drive away from the secure enclave makes the drive useless and the enclave only allows a few password attempts.

Regarding your example of this person being forced into a mental institution, are you able to provide a source? I'm interested in learning more especially as I'm living in Australia, this is quite terrifying indeed.

Every POW coin should either switch to POS or if they are going to stick with POW they need to focus on a different algorithm and let ASIC development happen. The key to being a weaker chain is to encourage the community to build an ASIC ju

Based on the first link, that letter scares me a lot. I have a feeling that this level of regulation will destroy any social startup. You'd need a compliance department larger than engineering just to remain legal. This is clearly a wi

Give any technology time to sit long enough weeds in the form of lawyers and regulators will grow over it and snuff it out. Rarely is society left with an efficient technology after government is done with it. Unfortunately most of my peers

A thing I've noticed about cryptocurrency news. The people that are pro cryptocurrency are often far too optimistic and sometimes are not the most academic people. However I've also noticed that those that constantly critique cryp

It doesn't surprise me that IOTA followers are toxic considering the founders are toxic individuals. I find it interesting how IOTA founders are the complete opposite of Satoshi and Vitalik.

It's a wild west, we need a winter of sorts to destroy most of these projects. If IOTA isn't secure it should fall sooner than later. Hopefully what exists in several years time will be good technology, and hopefully the scams hav

I think that if half of their ideas could actually work and be secure, it would be a good thing. If IOTA was a real thing for example I would happily be apart of that community. Unfortunately it's a total waste of time. I remember avoi

A lot of my ideas for blockchain technology work a lot better using ETH for example, rather than yet another token. I think we'll need to wait a few months/years before the ICO craze dies down and we can get back to focusing on bu

Volume of trades from exchanges show that daily 5% of the market cap is traded. (About $25 billion traded vs $500 billion market cap) How does this compare to Apple or another large stock?

Look at trade volume. Last time I checked tether was 10% of worldwide trade volume. That's huge. If this volume is based on fake dollars then I think the entire space could be massively inflated.

As bitcoin is quite impossible to value via traditional methods it's very hard to say where the price could end up after a tether pop. I've heard many in the cryptocurrency space throw figures around such as $1,000. I fear that th

I don't think the IRS fears Bitcoin. The examples in this piece are quite easy for the IRS to get around. For tax purposes one of the key concepts in mining Bitcoin and trading Bitcoin is the use of a third party. If you have moved coi
