If you manage to do inference in analog you’re orders of magnitude more efficient. People will adapt to crappy frameworks and awkward drivers.

I must admit my previous comment was mildly sarcastic. What I was after is: OpenCL is that language/framework that is consortium driven and open. It’s been there since the start of time. Still it cannot dethrone CUDA… Nvidia struck go

By 2007/2008 there was a trend in HPC research called GPGPU. This involved havky techniques to get the shaders to do the computations you wanted. CUDA started appearing in 2008 with a framework (compiler, debugger) to do GPGPU in a pro

Will we ever be able to extract CO2 from the atmosphere by mimicking the process that goes on in trees? And perhaps speeding it up or increasing the density? Is that even feasible? Disclaimer I know very little about botany/biology

So can other companies! Once they spent all that money, what prevents other competitors from taking that business from them?

I don’t get it.. how can a mere software company be part of an elaborate and insidious plot to rob the UK public? They sell software, do not get access to the data! What’s different from any other company?

Organize and demand change! The social order does not care about the majority at the base that’s suffering until they drop it all on the floor..

This is completely true. Myself being a software developer. You can only add value by tailoring your code for easier maintainability. Aside from that, you’re just translating business requirements into some program.

How many companies like this exist? There’s also Babylon Health, Push Doctor, etc. It seems like several are after the same model for a while, but it hasn’t disrupted the regular health care market..

Well, can the power grid supply enough energy for 50 million AC units working at the same time? There is no simple solution for climate change.

The way I see this is there’s 2 aspects to test. 1) Uncovering bugs. 2) finding future regressions. Having the developer writing the tests suits scenario 2) but it’s totally inappropriate for scenario 1).
