The role we were hiring for was for tier 1 desktop support. It involved basic Windows and network troubleshooting. Most of the people we hired for this role were self taught and picked up their skills troubleshooting issues on their home

At my last company we had a slew of ITT graduates apply for a role one time. I talked to probably 10 or so of them. They seemed to have received little to no educational value from their time at ITT. I assume they were all promised great

Typically the operators will have an agreement so that they can get the generators refueled should the outage last even longer than what fuel they have on premise, so they theoretically could run indefinitely on generator power.

Uber is building out their own map system so that they are no longer dependent upon a third party. It's already in production on a limited basis. Isn't Google Ventures pretty isolated from Google?

It may not all be doom and gloom. Landlords have been forcing long term leases (7 years+) on tenants to get space in the city. Once a company outgrows that space they're still on the line for that lease, so they sublease it out and n

Why is Customer Support lumped in with admin/office staff? You're also missing a lot of positions that I'd like to see.

Considering statuspage.io is set up in redundant data centers and has all the bells and whistles that you need, building and maintaining your own seems less and less desirable to me.

I'm sympathetic to his cause. Imagine having your work stolen and having to deal with this for years. It would be very disheartening work. It looks like he's trying to only go after those that are using his images to make money

Why do you call out Rob Crossley without posting any of his responses? It sounds like he was really rude based on your description yet I have no way of telling whether he was just calling you out after he felt your email was fake.

Ryan from the PagerDuty support team here. Have you tried any of the newer versions? They're greatly improved. If you can pass any feedback along to support@pagerduty.com it would be much appreciated.

That's a great idea. I'd be really interested to see how this works out as you scale. How do you continue to consolidate and relay feedback from customers to the rest of the team that isn't on the support rotation?
