Yes, Dye botched [mac/i/tv/etc]OS 26. That doesn't say anything about the value of whatever UI kit is in place, being shared consistently by apps. A virtue that, apparent from this thread, is no longer universally shared

Basically you're saying websites are the same as apps, and whether they're used in the browser or as a desktop app, the UI is fine to ditch that of the OS. Fine if you think so. I'll be sad to see OS and apps diverge complete

If you think operating systems have nothing to offer in terms of UI patterns or guidance, then yes, that's a different type of consistency.

Fun Fact: You can use any inline SVG for a favicon and keep it right in the HTML document. This also allows you to use an emoji directly as a favicon, like so: <link rel="icon" type="image/svg+xml"

I don't think the author presents it as such a binary decision though. The fact is that in practice, it's either headphones in or out when in public. Meaning wearing them all the time effectively means IRL Do Not Disturb. > I t

Yeah, to me personally it just seems like treating the other person (e.g. a cashier or waiter) like a tool or utility rather than a human being. Even if your music is paused (which they can't know)

I don't know that I'm autistic but I've grown very sensitive to nuisances over the years, which is why I wear them any time I'm not with someone I know. I use the Background Sounds feature on the iPhone, set to Dark Nois

I like the Possible Hallucinations feature. Seems like a feature that could stand on its own. Interested in how you separate those out.
