This would be great. I just stayed in about 10 or so Airbnbs on an extended trip. A number of them were run by someone who didn't live there, but would, for example, leave a lock box outside the door with the key, and tell us to put th

In case anyone's curious, this is a rather old iteration of the course (2011, right after it switched from scheme to Python). The current iteration is at http://cs61a.org - taught by two undergrads for the summer. The most

Another "hard sci-fi" suggestion: Seveneves by Neal Stephenson. Goes into a lot of detail about some potentially interesting things (moon science and orbital mechanics come to mind), if you enjoy that. I learned that I don't,

I'm going to play devil's advocate here, but there might be legitimate technical reasons - streaming from your ISP's network may actually be easier on the network (it doesn't require inter-network hops, or maybe, since t

In the specific case of Berkeley, campus officials estimated that it would have cost a few extra hundred thousand dollars in order to put in the infrastructure to caption all of the videos that they made public. Given that the return for th

It's not clear to me what it would even mean for "consciousness to turn out to be false." The way consciousness is commonly defined (i.e. not with an analytical definition), its existence as a phenomenon can't be false

This is great! Although, I'll shamefully admit that after just doing the Konami code and seeing nothing happen, I went so far as to take a look at the source to get the last step. :) You did indeed get a 5-star review out of it, though
