Yeah, it runs with escalated privs. People wager that SUID binaries are extremely risky and this seems totally reasonable to me! I don't know where to find a really good security analysis of the risks, however. Firejail is most likely

Yes, its maybe an "internal" safety rating? Since the ratings are from a standardized test usually conducted on a powered rail trolley, I've often wondered if the safety rating would be different if the testing considered tho

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to address this with me, I do appreciate it and I think I've a clearer view on perspectives. The language and rhetoric is harmful to society all while we are achieving the worst outcomes. W

Thanks, I was editing the comment but I will stop to prevent any wiggle over here. We have some number of immigrants where I am in a rather conservative small town in a large greater metro area. We have a local history of missionary and aid

Well I asked about this and now you're saying "It was actually worse" and invoking cope. If I promise to have zero follow up questions can you tell me why you think this? I do live in a northern municipality and we have a num

This is a fairly weak shower thought, but it was interesting to note (anecdotally) people's propensity to rigidly prioritize safety in some, but not all circumstances. For example, I've had numerous conversations where people will

I was looking at yearly immigration numbers and there is variation in the reporting, which is to be expected, but from what I can see, the census bureau sees a fairly stable number of immigrants (undocumented and otherwise) year over year

Could you please qualify both: the several years of chaotic annd uncontrolled immigration as well as Biden betting on employment vs inflation with the policies that you are referencing? For example, while I’m aware that the Biden admin ende

How is a patrolman lying about a helping himself? It seems nuts to claim the year over year national drops in crime are all gaming stats comp. I’m positive there is some of this going on, but an effort like that to suppress crime statistics

Where is the alternative "true" numbers? Police have every incentive to do the opposite of what you say. Why else fund them?

We're powerwalking towards regime change wars over cocaine. It strikes me as completely absurd to employ our significant military power to destroy tiny vessels at sea instead of targeting operations and finances. It seems just as amora

Akamai has some really good infrastructure, and an extremely competent global cdn and interconnects. I was skeptical when linode was acquired, but I value their top-tier peering and decent DDoS mitigation which is rolled into the cost.

Its really expensive, its true. Prices spiked like mad after the coronavirus shortages, AC parts were back up forever. It sucked and the costs rose tremendously and seemingly never fell. Then we tarrif the imports and change the rate consta

Yikes! There are so many corner cases and pitfalls in construction, it would blow your mind! I did it for 2 months way back and concluded I would certainly die. Paint a fence? Pay the neighbor kid. Patch a roof? eh ... what could go wrong.

You're gonna plug it into the outlet? its going to probably need a circuit at the breaker.

It is expensive, but I think you're underestimating the costs. If the AC catches fire because your electrician skills are bad, what happens? I guess you can rent a ladder if you need one, but they're at least $200 if your split is
