Thank you. I didn’t know about QMK. Interesting. But actually it was the OS kernel keyboard driver I meant.

Personally I’d want just to connect two standard keyboards. One for each hand. But then I’d need a keyboard driver that will let the shifting keys on one keyboard affect key actions on the other keyboard. Is it hard to write my own keyboard

> A sequence of commands that leaves the stack non-empty? That’s actually a feature. It’s even fundamental in concatenative programming languages such as FORTH and Factor.

And there is actually no such thing as an empty stack on an RPN calculator. A four register stack, as is common, always holds four numbers.

Algorithms for RPN Calculators by John A. Ball (1978) landed in my mailbox two days ago. It’s each and every detail you can imagine regarding RPN. Very well and thoruogh written. A great pleasure to study it: https://www.amazon

If pages are numbered, the largest page number is still on last page. Just look there. Or alternatively: The first step of your binary search is to look at the page number on the flip side of page 1 and determine to flip the stack or not.

The publisher is gambling. I don’t know much about non-fiction, but regarding fiction they actually loose on most books and win big on a few. Would you think it’s better if publishers only published if they were really sure it would sell?

The trick can make any square easier. Take 27 * 27, make it 3 up and 3 down, i.e. 30 * 24 = 720. Then adding the 3 squared you get the answer 729.
