Much more concise. I was curious on Jeremy's view on getters, setters in JS - can be summed up as it is "impossible to reason about the side-effects of your code" (aside from the fact that it also does not work on IE). http://irclogger.co

The article points out a weakness in the author's philosophy of management, not the weakness in Jobs as a manager. The notion of 'personality disorder' seems largely out of context for someone of the mindset change the world. 'Old Steve'?

Its simple - FB is not transparent about the value exchange. Why? We represent top 1% most aware users here.. most users do not understand they are exchanging their data / attention for a social networking service.

Well, you are basically saying don't waste time referring people to Dropbox given their incentives. I did this trick a few weeks ago when Vladik initially posted. Cost me $13 in total (+ about 10min of my time) to go from 2.8GB to 10.8GB.

Please don't point at YC for this - don't ask an innovative tech incubator to take on a broken culture of business ethics. PG/YC has taught the world to build companies around products that people want and to be relentlessly resourceful. I

Exactly - the takeaway is that Bret can create amazing things as a result of building off of his own creations. He's not running, he's building reusable components for a rocket ship.

I really did not mean to discuss the clinical definition of a sociopath, so much as the common definition that I have read about - society's meaning of the word. Many 'sociopaths' who are designated as such may not fit the clinical profile
