As an additional PSA, sleep apnea may not be the cause of exhaustion, even if diagnosed. I was diagnosed with apnea and CPAP did (still does) little if anything for my energy levels. I finally found a sleep doctor who checked my iron levels

Longevity plays a big role. My grandmother is 96 and grandfather 94, so even with a first child at 29 they’ve still had over a decade with their great grands. I had 6 great grandparents still alive when I was growing up. My parents were you

I wrote a small utility to find and dedup[0] using APFS features and had to poke around the user exposed metadata quite a bit. The short answer is probably. Metadata is extendable and there are things that work similarly already (encryption

I don’t think it was every one or the other. Ruby wa/ hot around 2005 and Apple experimented with language bindings for AppKit (and osascript?). I did a bunch of prototyping using MacRuby and then would rewrite in Objective-C. Ruby’s o

Google lost their case because, among other things, they offered back room deals which favored a blessed few and were not available to all. E.g. you could not get the rate Spotify was getting charged for in app purchases (zero%).

Pandora offers a superset of LaTeX and any other markup languages as long as you’re not using it for final rendering. I have a Markdown+LaTeX project I’m working on and try to write mostly in markdown, but can drop down into LaTeX in-line i

Maybe it’s their lineage, but I appreciate most native, first party iPhone apps having local first data storage. 4G is increasingly spotty in my area and it’s a crapshoot whether I can reliably load a time sensitive app that requires remote

Is Windows documentation unencumbered by copyright? Certainly you have to agree to Microsoft’s license for their documentation.

Since people don’t seem to understand Microsoft’s anti-competitive behavior, I recommend you start with Groklaw[0] and decide if you want to dive any deeper. Microsoft was akin to US Steel or Standard Oil. We really haven’t seen anything li

It’s about the difference between someone saying something mean to people and someone killing people. Sure, they are both socially unacceptable, but we typically don’t equate those.

Similar behavior would have been to go to all of the retailers and say they couldn’t sell iPhones if they sold Android phones. Apple sued for patent infringement and that was about the extent of it. Suggesting that their behavior is at Micr

Minimum wage never meant livable wage. A specialized professional is typically paid a market rate many times higher than minimum wage. I’m not sure why lawyers should be treated differently (regardless of feelings towards some).

I used pegdown-doclet for this for a long time. It made documentation in code as easy to read as the generated docs. I don’t think most developers knew that JavaDoc was HTML to begin with (or evernlooked at the rendered docs).

Any company big enough to have a legal department will tell their devs to say away from LGPL, GPLv3, etc. If a dev is using that as promo for their commercial offering, it will probably just be ignored.
