True, but this is only the case if you're targeting Danes. If you're making an international SaaS or something like that, VISA + MasterCard is fine.

Well, yes and no - we have all the normal options that involve a merchant account and so on. What we don't have yet is the simple-to-setup solution that Stripe offers (unless https://www.paymill.com/ offers that solution - I'm not sure).

EU isn't (yet) integrated in that sense (I wrote something on this issue some time ago: http://jonasbentzen.com/stop-generalizing-about-europe/ ). We /might/ be able to use the UK version - let's hope that's the case. But then there's cur

Shared hosting account with a home-made simple PHP blog system that writes static files to disk. Even though I use shared hosting my site easily survived several hours as #1 on the HN front page, simply because I use static files.

Because on non-English keyboards curly braces are a pain to type. E.g. in Danish it requires Alt + Shift + 8 (on a Mac), and if you look at the comments above you'll see that the problem is the same for many other languages.

What I don't understand is why WordPress would be cheaper than other forms of PHP software? Most smaller PHP frameworks such as Slim Framework or Laravel require even less memory than WordPress and could easily be installed on a small web h
