Thanks for digging into this and for sharing this article! I hadn't seen this latest twist. I'm friends with a number of the "paper’s staff who staged a mass walk-out". Very difficult times. Not mentioned in this article

When I had an MRI a few years ago, my conclusion about the sound was "add a melody on top of that rhythm, and it would go over quite well in an underground industrial music club in an abandoned warehouse outside of Berlin." I have

That's neat! My uncle gave me a bunch of large electrical insulators from the old high-tension transmission lines heading West from Hoover Dam. They make great yard ornaments.

Things like that can cause routing "loops" in your network which can mess up everything, not just the device in question. We've had that issue with "dumb" switches.

My local search and rescue team made door mats for their station with old 1/2" ropes. They came out really nicely. Doing so with serial or coax cables seems like an invitation for bits of the plastic sheath breaking off in a few m

I second your comment on high-quality foam. If you're looking at re-doing some old furniture or having your own made, study up on foam - not just the density - which is important - but also the type and grade. Decent stuff should last

I just spent about $700 having new cushions made for a 50+ year old Danish Teak sofa that I inherited from my grandparents. The original cushions were long gone, but the wooden frame was still in great condition. I sourced high-quality foam

There's a fairly successful(?) and long-running Ostrich and Emu operation near where I live. It's a tourist attraction though and they make their money charging admission and selling handfuls of food so people can feed the birds.

Interesting! We recently visited Parque Arqueológico Nacional de Tierradentro[1] in southern Colombia. The Hypogea remind me very much of the ones in Malta you shared. There, IIRC, they were saying they were 3,000 years old, but now online

You must not have been to all parts of it. There are some very grungy, crowded, run-down areas as well. (The nice parts are pretty nice though.)
