Some postings go way overboard on skillset. You must be a master at everything. I've heard that this is done sometimes so that they can't find the talent locally and then can outsource for that specific role. Some recruiters, not

Anecdotally, I've been applying to a ton of jobs over the past 2 years. PHP compensation is much lower than Ruby by my observations. However, having multiple languages opens you to a wider market. I'll see "senior PHP develop

If you don't continue to punish them it sends the message that it's OK to do bad things if you back pedal. This is basically Facebook's strategy on everything including privacy. Let's say they want to implement some new

I wonder how many people realize, halfway through the phone screening, that they don't care enough about Google to jump through those hoops.

I'm not sure I understand. What do you have to be right about? I would assume if a brand has a registered pantone color they know the code? Why do you need a book? I'm no designer but it seems like Pantone created a solution then

Maybe "value" wasn't the right word. I would hope that these types of things would fail because the users would give up clicking through 20 pages of ads but the fact that "respected" outlets like Forbes still do it

To be fair "most number of patents" doesn't mean they were good. They have an army of people whose sole responsibility is patenting anything they can in the hopes of enforcing that IP later.
