This is a guess, but I'm assuming they use the same software running in an independent environment just for them.

The protocol only gets you so far though. I'd argue that our (I work at IFTTT) value exists at a level above that. I would love a standard though, it would make my job waayyy easier.

Between me, you, aaronbrethorst and azylman that's a pretty good MN expat in CA contingency already represented in this thread.

My guess is that they haven't acquired it yet since the deal isn't closed. The deal was also pre-IPO, so I believe they'd be subject to the same freeze.

It's a pretty small venue if they hold it on campus where PDC 2010 was held. I'm guessing 1000 at the most. Not anything like Build in Anaheim last year which held 5000.

It might be convenient, but patio11's anecdata suggests using Stripe can dramatically outperform Paypal or Google Checkout: http://www.kalzumeus.com/2012/08/06/stripe-and-ab-testing-ma... (of course this will vary depending on the site)

We are a small, young startup and we have to be very particular about the things that we focus on. It's really hard to say "no" or "not now" sometimes. When I started one of the first things I thought for sure I would push for was a webhook

Posting my comment here as well: We're definitely interested in powering the internet of things and webhooks will definitely play a part of that. It remains to be seen if we need to have a generic hook channel to make that possible. I suspe

Twilio's new international SMS is roughly comparable with Nexmo's. Nexmo's is slightly cheaper in our comparisons. Twilio's docs/dashboard/etc. are far better. (I used to work at Twilio and am a happy customer of theirs at IFTTT)

Meet new people, learn how to work on a team, learn how to refine an idea and learn new technologies. Just avoid people who are looking for free labor, find other people that are there for the same reasons and you'll enjoy yourself.

I hope there's some standardization too. You'd think there would be some coalescing around the most popular OAuth2 implementation: Facebook's. But even they weren't big enough to get people to settle on one.
