I don't really see how my site is "falling apart in the real world". It is a real site used by real people in the real world. It is not falling apart.

Now you're just saying "AI psychosis exists" (true) and then saying Karpathy has it. That is, again, essentially name calling, like saying someone is insane rather than addressing their points. If you really think Karpathy is

The intent of my comment was to state that you should write something more substantive than dismissing Karpathy as “slopbrain”. I wasn’t appealing to authority by saying that he was correct — just that he deserves more than name calling in

How is saying the author has “slopbrain” is “addressing the idea on its own merits”? It’s just name calling.

Well, I don’t really think it’s “simple”. The code uses React, nodejs, realtime events pushed via SSE, infra pushed via Terraform, postgres, blob store on S3, emails send with SES… sure, it’s not the next Google, but it’s a bit above, like,

I find this interesting for two reasons. 1. LLMs inspire and clearly strike a certain type of chord in people that other technology does not. For instance, can you imagine a post called "Rust Is Not Fun" at the top of HN? Or even

I didn’t really get into it, but I think that most decisions which are not consistent are made with some feeling of “I will improve upon the existing state of this ugly codebase by introducing Good Decisions”. I’m sure even the authors of t

I don’t know. At my place a lot of cowboy engineers decided to do things their own way. So now we have the random 10k lines written in Redux (not used anywhere else) that no one likes working with. Then there’s the part that randomly uses s

I feel you missed the gist of my argument, which is that anyone who lives in the US in 2025 does a similar sort of "morality calculus" as someone who works for Big Tech. To be honest, I think living in the US is worse.

It seems a bit too much to assert that every developer should be fully responsible for every moral slight their company commits. It is entirely possible to make a positive impact on the world from a large organization - in fact for some peo

While I disagree with you that it's "a huge mistake" (I think it works fine in 95% of cases), it strikes me that this sort of semantic textual substitution is a perfect task for an LLM. Why not just ask a cheap LLM to de-sens
