Interesting stack. I’ve been working on doing something like this with Apple specific tech. Swiftdata is not easy to work with.

Decentralized decision making is pure democracy. What you see to want is representative democracy or a constitutional republic with representative democracy in the form of elected officials.

The self healing only works if you have redundant drives. If all SSD’s are like this maybe they need alarms that sound as an onboard battery gets low to ensure someone plugs them in.

Unions are the best of all the bad solutions we’ve come up with so far for labor to compete with capital. The worst of course is collectivism through government, though that’s being tried again…

My first reaction to the steam machine was “you’ll own nothing and be happy about it” but yeah everyone seems happy about it… I like how old games were sold on physical cartridges or discs. Much more fun to know the experience can be relive

If all of Amazon went down in 1998 or 1999 it wouldn’t have been news on par with AWS in 2025.

Most people don’t want to lose tens of thousands of dollars in value to progress for progress sake… I just bought a car and went ICE in no small part to resale value.

Population decline and climate change impact may not provide enough surpluses in capital for specific areas to invest in reinventing various solutions unless AI makes the cost extremely low.
