I tried to build some hobby stuff with it (mostly worked), planning to use it instead of mongodb @work but I got hit by the limitations of the JS engine version used at the time and it got frustrating too fast for a small hobbyist project.

But that's the problem with D&D in 2024. Role-playing games have moved far away from the constraints of old school levelling and fighting simulators. I am glad people enjoy D&D but role playing games have so much more to bring
