I imagine paying a monthly subscription to a browser company. Browser365 anyone?

gha.. Another subscription based app. I can see it now: 2.99/month. Also we already have browsers pre-installed. Safari and IE(or what ever it's called these days) There's no call to advance these though. Chrome has profil

Yep.. in almost every way it should have beat out slack. It did everything better, and had a name. It was so very close, but lost. Mostly I think because of how hard it was to get non-users into it's eco system.

It lost all hope when it demanded the same login as windows. No longer could I have a semi-annon chat tool. I didn't want a "one password for everything" experience.

I suppose it depends on how you use it.. If you view it like you would a bit of paper and a pencil then it works a treat. I want this to do X when I ask it with Y param. If you write out your spec's before you sit down to code. When a

New chrome book would do.. No setup required, they work offline out of the box, and are really cheap. I got one for my kid a few weeks ago. She uses google docs offline and sync's up when she comes back online. Way easier to get going.

Was? You can easily buy one now. There are a lot of them for sale. I got one a few years back. They're great.. and that it uses AA batteries is a huge plus.

Yeah.. I learned gregg short hand. Took years, but I love it.. I can write rather fast now, and for the most part I'm the only one who can read it. I do slip into standard writing.. It's a blend really. What I really like about i

Got an AlphaSmart 2000 off ebay. It cost < 200.. It's 100% offline, and the setup involves getting a pack of AA batteries at the local gas station. It is so easy to use, and reliable as heck.

Just on the un-elected private group bit. This would apply to every one of the staff members of these departments. How many elected software developers worked on the original software? How many private contractors were elected? Are there

Also talked about C64's, like they lived through it. That brings them into their 50's. I got the feeling they've been at it a long time.

GQL sucks. Everything is 200, errors are custom, n+1 queries are rife. 304's don't exist. There's nothing like debugging a client and looking for an error in the network tab at a sea of 200's. Not allowed to see the dat

Also wrong about the learning something that's a waste. ADD can show up as soon as 5 years old. I noticed symptoms in my 5 year old kid. They were slight, but they reminded me of me. She was learning shapes and colors, and how to s

Take a 12 year old out of school? That's grade 5. They're learning to write paragraphs and their times tables. Not many business leaders can't write a paragraph or do 7*5 in their head. Better advice would be to get them i

I firmly believe the acronym is incorrect. It is not a deficit; it is an advantage in some ways. I'm a software dev.. Been so for > 30 years, and I can tell you that ADD is a super power. ADD is not so much that you cannot pay att
