Good for the wealthy. Middle-class still can't buy because of stricter lending rules and increasing interest rates. Middle-class who FOMO'd in the last 2 years will see their interest rates double and even triple when they refinan

I use this to subscribe to subreddit feeds (could really be any RSS reader though). Instead of doomscrolling all the time, I get the 25 hot posts and that's it.

I used to work in an small org running on GCP, and the most infuriating thing was they would very often deprecate services in favor of new ones. Almost every year we had to spend a few months migrating to a V2 of a service. That's mont

The colors in the demos reminds me of Wings3d, a 3d editor written in Erlang. It had quite a unique user interface to it, with modal bindings not unlike Vim. Are the color choices a coincidence?

If you're using interop for mundane, everyday things, why use Clojure then? I imagine you would end up writing non-idiomatic Clojure code to do the interop (e.g. working with mutable objects and not immutable datastructures).

I wouldn't be surprised if "reimbursing" is just updating a number on their database and hoping customers won't immediately withdraw.

I used to do hobby modeling with Wings3D http://www.wings3d.com/ . The closest I can describe its UI was the Vim of 3D modeling software.

I really don't understand this point about just using Java libraries in Clojure. Why not just use Java? Wouldn't the experience of writing Clojure that fits the Java library's model be horrible?

The Little Prince. I read it when I was younger, so I wouldn't say it changed how I think, but it shaped how I think and view the world to this day. The most memorable part was around the fox.

In the Philippines, Macbooks that need servicing (e.g. the "free" keyboard repair offer for the 2016-2018 Macbooks) need to be shipped all the way to Singapore. Estimated waiting time: 4 weeks. At least it's free I guess.

I think it's good to keep doing some things via command line, so as not to forget how Git works "under the hood". I also keep my Git alias commands to a minimum for a similar reason.

I feel the same way about Clojure. For a LISP, where interactive development via the REPL is supposed to be one of the value-add of the language, it falls completely short in that aspect. They even have entire libraries and design patterns

My idea for a quick fix is to remove likes/dislikes/emoji reactions. If people can't see how others feel about a post/article in an instant, they might have to read and decide for themselves how to feel.
