Raymond Hettinger is a treasure! In addition to shelve-sqlite, he's contributed a pile to the Python ecosystem: - fleshed out modules: functools, itertools -- love them; also bisect, collections, decimal, math, random, and type aliases

Trey Hunner has created a ton of useful and interesting Python articles. Although I've been programming in it for 20+ years, I always learn new things. He's a national treasure. Pythonmorsels is a great subscribe.

I suggest using := as in `APP_URL := http://localhost ` vs raw "=". The colon-equals format means "set value now", so it's easier to understand. I've never used eval. Make's use of Bash can le

I adore Makefiles as they're a very simple way to create a higher level abstraction in my projects. It builds data and runs small bits of code, so I can concentrate on the business-level value. I haven't found a better/simple

I love that kind of stuff! In college I wrote an assembler, interpreter, and simulator for an 8-bit chip, the 8048. Got a four-credit "A" :-D Later I read the C code for a Scheme interpreter -- Scheme 9 in Empty Space -- highly re

I'm a Dev with DevOps skills. In 100% of the projects I've been on, the feature-focused Devs have a strong bias against thinking about or fixing the CI/CD pipeline. This despite it being simple code and directly accessible. B

This is an excellent writeup, with interesting ideas and clear description of actions taken. My idea of pipelines, also, was flawed. Well done! Nothing to do with Zig. Just a nice debugging story.

Absolutely Note the first season was not about new aliens per episode. It was all about atmosphere and character development and relationships. For money/political reasons, Season 2 turned into monster-of-the-week.
