Well that was weird. The grandparent asked why LEGO was so expensive. People reply with familiar Lego Group PR sound bytes that don't explain the markup. I reply with fresh economic facts that actually explain the costs and I am implic

I agree, but I also think Airbnb should have a very visible promipt, in your face that they really don't guarantee that you will get what you paid for. To my knowledge they don't do this at the moment. (Referring to the TOC is jus

I guess the argument is that if they should get the profit margin, they should also own the losses. I think I agree. (Doesn't change a thing about this guy's criminal responsibility, of course.)

Are you saying the german anti-nuclear people are largely distinct from the german 'environmentalists'?

I just sorta assumed they didn't care much beyond the pure economics? (Maybe that's what you are saying.)

German 'environmentalists' (I use that word ironically) are indeed something else. They did this after Fukushima. Are they afraid there'll be a baltic sea tsunami?

Exactly. The tech division, while overfunded and overengineered is fulfilling its role in a good enough way.

Only if there's an immediate feedback-loop. (As in a AI-run dictatorship.) In practise this kind of feedback can take up to a decade to cause actual implementation in most democracies, I would guess.

Bullcrap. The tech is good enough (but not that much better beyond that level). >90% of the success comes from the content creation/licensing strategy/execution and marketing. I.e. non-tech. At this point it's a bit like a

In this part of Asia, "dangerous" is code for "troublemaker", i.e. anyone who tries to challenge the state-sanctioned message. I think it's a sino-ism.
