If you see life as some game to optimize only for yourself not the people around you then for sure as very high earners, easy to move somewhere else, and some do. But from my point of view that’s a sad outlook on life and it’s not all one s

Fun read, from a Swedish background "Uncertainty is weakness" seems so very American though and the opposite of both how we operate and what TheRightWay (tm) should be. As a senior dev working as a consultant for the past 8 years

Not really if you ever tried. Barely playing music, games obviously don’t work if you ever tried playing games. (hint, game x not beeing terrible doesen’t mean ”it works”). like I said at the start this is fairly obvious.

It’s very obvious in 2025, have deleted all my social accounts, (maybe still a bit of reddit). Kids are definitly not allowed even close to it. 100% correct it’s about the business model/funding. Just make it in your basement and don’t

Right tool for the job. Linux for deploying stuff to, Linux or mac for working on the stuff you’ll deploy. Windows for games and everyday use. They’re all superior in their category and it’s too obvious to spend time arguing about.

I mean most of us don’t keep any organized notes and are fine. I can giggle sometimes when I find old notepads from the past but nothing I’d miss. Sounds like the author for sure made an obvious choice even if that doesen’t mean you have to

If you mean AI when you sai IA I think it's bigger than this. It's ironic at the point of time where it definitly starts to outperform humans in most regards we have maybe the most failing governance in modern history. I don'

Sure, I agree but usually around here there's some inteligent discussions so someone just accepting this without taking this into consideration seems weird. Pretty sure we can make food production more efficient and that it won't

How can you ”update” the model in 2025 yet not take ai or the collapse of american democracy and global trust into account?

I don't recomend doing it at an afterparty spilling half the bag on the floor and spending most of the night worrying if your "benefactor" will kill you.

No not really. There's no power in the world that can restrain this in it's current form even mildly much less absolutly. Why do you think that would be even slightly possible?

It all depends on what you count/map. By some european definition Sweden has 24 islands if you discount all the small ones. We basically have an extreme anount of small ones from the last ice age. Bit whatever, it’s a great place to sa

That's true of course and an important part why everything is so polarized. Without getting too political I don't believe the current direction is sustainable and that the start of the down spiralling already has happened.

co-pilot solved day 2 in a second, kind of makes me sad. I’ll try some of the others myself though they’re kond of fun. Would be fun to use as many languages as possible or maybe some convoluted micro services architecture.

You can’t outsource something for decades then think throwing money at something will be enough to pick it up yourself on a tight timeline. Nor be surprised if your interests don’t align with a chineese actor you’re trying to replace.
