Three things I don't like about Common Lisp. 1. It has CLOS but it doesn't really embrace it in standard library. You have list, vector, hash-table, each with its own iterator function. You have lots of #with-xxx macro. All modern

It's the same with all other native UI, though. .Net Winform, WPF, Swing, etc., they don't allow you to make modification to UI outside main thread.

I really want to use React in my next application, but I'm lost on how to do visual things like animation (like a carousel), drag-drop, typeahead. Do you have any suggestion on the best practice on doing those heavy DOM stuff in React?

I honestly can't see how jQuery dictate how you architect your code. jQuery is a DOM manipulating library and AJAX library. It is not a framework. It doesn't force you to organize your code in any particular way. You know that jQu

I like Dylan for its generic function and restart system is probably what should have been in Common Lisp. Generic function is the same in Common Lisp, but Dylan actually utilizes it in the standard library.

I think the pop up's counter is when you save, so if you have the habit of saving very often (as I do), it could be annoying. But I still find it usable since it's not arbitrary pop up during typing or navigating.
