Jetpack is an additional extension install for users. This framework looks like it builds native extensions without an extension needing to be preinstalled - at least until jetpack is shipped with ff.

I'm looking forward to this series. So, am I reading this right? TicketStumbler has become a maintenance project for a summer intern?

1. Awesome visual design 2. I really like the screenshots and large sign up button. They're all the same screenshot, though, so I can't get a better idea of what is inside. 3. I'm not the target audience since I'm not a professor. I wish th

This could be made into an iPhone app for email/sms. It wouldn't replace the native keyboard on the iPhone, but would allow users to compose their message using this triangular keyboard and forward the text to the appropriate application.

For sure, and we agree. We're not looking to convert on this audience (HN/techcrunch/digg/reddit etc) - we just launched and we think feedback like this from really smart people is super useful. We're still gathering information before we f

It's awesome how much you understand our situation when this is the first time you've seen what we're working on. This was exactly what we've been struggling with, and having another perspective on it is extremely helpful. And, you went thr

Point taken. It's actually more similar than might appear at first glance. Google Wave is real time, and when someone types/edits the wave you're looking at, you see that. On Browseology, when someone types in a search or any other text, yo

We agree with Google. This is the same idea behind our newly launched startup, http://www.browseology.com If you don't want to wait for Google Wave to see updates from everyone in real time, check it out.

Browseology is available now! Developed by myself and kineticac. You can browse together in real time with Amazon support, but more coming very soon.

Yep, this is basically bittorrent that tries to guess what you want based on keywords. The web-based version of this is FriendFeed. Pick what you want to see (subscribe to friends/groups) and get a feed of articles, videos, pictures, etc.

Thanks for taking the time to show what you had in mind. We're very quickly iterating over new homepage designs and will be sure to highlight the main interaction.

Thanks for the great feedback. You're right - Browseology isn't obvious at first glance. That's the biggest area that we're tackling right now, since as kineticac mentioned, it's a new concept to be browsing together without installation. E

I don't think you're dense, that's a good point. We're actually thinking of taking out this URL on the homepage. You can copy/paste your URL at any time to invite a friend - still working on making that as clear as possible.

Totally agree. Gaining initial traction is magnitudes harder as a first time entrepreneur. Would Twitter be at its current level if Evan Williams didn't have the credibility that came from founding Blogger?

Great design - a favicon.ico would be a nice touch and make your site easier to find with multiple tabs open. I submitted http://www.browseology.com and we'd love a review!

I wrote exactly this 4 years ago :) It was called AwayGrabber (www.awaygrabber.com). I wrote a overly complex crawler in C to grab away messages from IM networks as fast as rate limiting would allow. Then created a web frontend for viewing

Good point. I did an experiment a few weeks ago to see how this was handled on posterous by sending an email to a friend and cc'ing post@posterous.com. It was handled well on their end with a solid line on the left side of the reply. So it

The idea of real time communication is similar to IRC, but remember that it's just a protocol. The big difference here is what you can do with how that data is presented to users. There are some really neat things you can do with HTTP and a
