The mistake there was one of timing and approach and they learned from it. The promise of cross-platform, web-based technology is still there, that's why they created React Native.

I think VSCode by Microsoft is a good example of Electron done well. In their case, I don't think it's because their web technology devs are cheaper. I wouldn't be surprised if that team knew multiple platforms and languages.

Mine too. I'm wasn't familiar with his work, but I was moved by the lovely pictures of Vernon Adams with his family. Fonts are pretty important. I spend most of my day looking at text so readability is key.

I like the javascript example in the blog entry where closures are used to simplify the implementation and scoping of the async call back. Javascript is my favorite language right now.
