Ah thanks for clearing that up. The project that my colleague switched from Go was also a low level project. It seems like Go isn't fantastic for lower-level projects yet.

Over the previous few weeks, I've seen multiple projects including one internal project drop Go. There was the widely publicized story [1] where Dropbox was switching from Go to Rust. More recently one of our backend engineers who bu

This person wrote a tweet and the tweet has code[1]. This snippet in JavaScript allows you to import that code into your code as a module. I think this is trolling on state of the Node community because over the previous few days, people

I agree. I built a huge python app on AppEngine back in 2009-2012 called Vroomtrap which was an app for tracking speed traps. The BigTable data store wasn't ever designed for multiple inequality queries (e.g. where X is between two p

There are ways to get around this technically where Apple couldn't detect what you're doing, but definitely not recommend. I wonder if these rejections are a nod to Apple doing something with the underlying Web Browser View? App

The score at the bottom of the article is hilarious. I used to own a Maxima and I would always go to Nissan.com only to find a semi-funciotnal "computer" repair shop. It was extremely frustrating, but the sites main goal right n

I had a pretty funny story a few months ago. I was watching San Andreas and there is one part where Paul Giamatti (Dr. Lawrence Hayes) yells "ALEXI..." and sure enough Amazon Echo turns on. I had to stop the movie and turn the E

I really like Carthage's architecture, but there are two things I don't like about it. 1. You can't edit the frameworks unless you open a separate project, re-edit and recompile. With Pods, you can edit the Pod in your works

I just installed Cocoapods last night and tried to clone down the repo. It took about 5 minutes and I thought to myself "Is my 150MB/s connection slow?" This definitely clears up what was going on.
