Potentially, although I think that there are cases when it's fine. For example when I lived in San Francisco, my LTE speeds were insanely fast so it wasn't as big of a deal. Now that I'm in Pittsburgh, the LTE speeds here a

The coverage is probably pretty high, but you're limited by each browsers respective feature set. There may be functionality that you can't ship due to limits on multiple browsers. Other issues arise if you factor in sites which

Now the question is whether or not they will reactive the terminals they purposely bricked and allow Google Wallet (or whatever it's called now) and Apple Pay to work again?

I worked at a Data Analytics start up in Palo Alto back in 2011 and we had 8 or 9 databases in our arsenal for storing different types of data. MongoDB was by far the worst and most unstable database we had. It was so bad that for the pre

Thanks for the summary of what's going on. I remember when the news broke, but I haven't seen much about what's going on since then.

Are the residents of Austin doing anything to let their state representatives know that the situation is as bad as you're painting it? From what I've read (not sure if it's factual or not), it seems people impacted by the lo

I have some co-workers from NYC (Queens/Brooklyn) and from what they were telling me; Only Manhattan is really crazy, not all of NYC? I'm not sure how accurate that is as I've never lived in NYC.

Will there be a point where the government will step in or is all of this tracking within fair use of non-logged in Facebook users visiting a website?

That's actually the tradeoff I'm making. The street I live on isn't even in Apple maps (I've filed a ticket), but I'm willing to use it for that tradeoff. Google is definitely collecting way more information and s

I wish I would have known about this back in 2011 when I joined my first California startup. While I did learn a lot on the job, the leadership team was very shady about the value of the company and the shares. I eventually ended up leavi

I remember walking into Firebase's offices about 4 years ago when it was 4 people on Townsend St in SOMA in a 300 square foot share office space. It's amazing to see how far they've come; Congrats to the whole team.

I don't think I'll be able to handle any instability in that right now. My primary development focus doesn't involve web development so having the latest and greatest browser won't benefit me that much. I do want to tr

Ah if 1Password doesn't work, that's definitely a blocker for me. I could always copy the usernames and passwords from the app, but I don't think I need to test the latest and greatest features that badly.

Recruiting drivers is also fairly expensive. I've seen a ton of "Get $500 to start driving for <service>" all over the place. I'm sure similar campaigns are being run in China as well.
