This is precisely why I wrote this article on why ecosystems are what's important -- not a fancy new handset. Nokia and RIM are near almost certain death in the next 18-24 months. http://subprint.com/blog/its-the-ecosystem,-stupid

I will continue to beat this drum: Mobile is not just the web. If you are thinking mobile first, you should be building network applications, not web applications. Fred Wilson is just an example of someone who get this.

The Nasdaq will be FLOODED with orders when FB begins trading. Will be interesting to see how their systems handle every algorithmic trading machine on the planet trading FB's stock...

The iOS SDK I'm building at work ultimately does the same thing. Much better UX.

With FB's IPO imminent, they should take some of that cash and buy Pinterest (Andreeson is invested in both anyway).

Yup, spot on. You'll notice that the massive, visually appealing sites and apps (Flipboard, Instagram, for example) cater to a different audience and are arguably more suited for monetization: your "sponsored pins" idea - subtle additions

Yes, private boards are key, IMO. I bought the domain wishistry.com a few years ago to provide just that: Private wishlists for birthdays, weddings, holidays, etc. I think Pinterest will roll this out soon.

Nice one. This is actually what I'm adding to Dillinger next - a Redis store for pastebin style links to markdown files. dillinger.io Dillinger is also 100% open source: github.com/joemccann/dillinger

So if you make $140k in NYC, but only take home say $95k. Or you make $120k, but take home $95k. Then it's about the same. Now factor in cost of living. The $$ in your pocket is higher. If you more concerned with the nominal/gross dollar
