I tried setting up with Vagrant once. Gave up since I rarely ever have to spin up new VM's enough (and my preferred distro is now Arch) to actually get with it, although I might take a second shot. IIRC though Vagrant requires that you

Are you sure that it was Dyn that was down, or if there was a break somewhere in the nameserver chain? I know that the digs I was running periodically were getting SERVFAIL responses from Google DNS even though my local nameservers were act

IANAL but OTOH I would argue that Alice isn't very relevant here. The chief rationale behind that case was the triviality of the core algorithm being described: if there isn't enough money in an account, you don't withdraw

It also occurs to me that something like Bruce Tognazzini's Tog on Design may be very applicable to thinking about UI/UX if he only went in recently. (Not strictly programming, but very relevant.)

On a CS-theory level, there's a fair amount of stuff he can learn in terms of just "thinking", but it won't come very close to being able to putz around with code and watch it fail. Suggestions for absolutely no computer

I've road tripped through Atlanta at least a few times now, and without fail, no matter where the other people in the car are from, Atlanta drivers always inspire misery.

As a univerity senior, thank you for this. Oracle was already low on my list of companies to apply to for a full-time job, and this put the nail in that coffin.

If your lawyers didn't catch that the contract with Utah was in violation of federal law, then they fucked up their due diligence. That's on you. It's also on Utah. Besides, liability laws are a clusterfuck.

A lot of misconceptions here, unless I'm misreading your post. The seed control stuff is really just Monsanto being incredibly shitty at PR. See NPR[1]; also, in the past 10, 20 years or so, there's only been one lawsuit between M

Thinkpads are fantastic, but no matter what you do, do not purchase any of the T*40's (T440, T540, etc) - Lenovo fucked up that round of releases hard (tried to move from discrete touchpad keys to integrated touchpad). If you're

The thing that terrifies me specifically is that there's been work done - I believe it was a branch of the US military studying network traffic patterns - showing that you can reconstruct profiles based on behavior patterns and link th
