The style matching is interesting, but there's no song structure. There's no identifiable chorus in any of the demo songs.

I had to think long and hard about whether to accept a PR that fixed ppcle64 support on the library I maintain. Since it wasn't too much of a diff, I accepted it, but in many other situations I wouldn't.

There are plenty of B2B opportunities where it just doesn't make sense for an open source competitor to emerge. There are plenty of hobbyist programmers willing to work on operating systems. Accounting systems? Way fewer. International

One of the concepts I learned in my Philosophy minor was the concept of "biological chauvinism": that an organism is made of meat and cells and neurons of course doesn't mean it is intelligent, and if an organism isn't

Do you think the electric company should be able to shut off your electricity if you say something they don't like? The problem is that, due to lack of anti-trust enforcement, we have quasi-utility companies that run commerce. If they

I've been dabbling in Hifi for most of my life, a hobby inherited from my father. I have some awareness of consumer Hifi over the last 50 years. Speaker and amplifier design are vastly better than even 15 years ago, partially because o

I bet the acquirer got Bench for peanuts. It is worth quite a bit less than if they had made a deal 2 weeks ago, but I bet they paid a tenth.

Exploiting externalities isn't just a capitalism thing. The Romans were well aware of the problems with lead plumbing yet they still used it. The rampant air pollution in China is another example where you can't blame capitalism.

You need them for loading, unloading, and smelting. Space Age (the most recent DLC) required me to use several 6:4 and 6:3 balancers. I usually start by hacking it. Once I place a premade balancer, throughout dramatically improves.

Perhaps I'm old school, but how hard is it to hire a bookkeeper part time, a CPA a few times a year, and use Quickbooks? Was there some special value that Bench provided?

It is irony of all ironies that an accounting services company would be surprised about their own insolvency. In reality, they had to have known for months. The director were probably just holding out for a Hail Mary funding injection. This
