The PEP was/is accepted. The problem is all the resources with the knowledge to merge it have since been reassigned. It's still pending merge into py3k.

Actually, I'm pretty sure they do offer custom pricing to some customers, but I've never heard any details.

This is fantastic. Amazon is the leader, and having them drop prices is a boon to the market as a whole. Companies who resell or add services on top of Amazon's services see an immediate benefit, as do their customers. I can't imagine how

As a hacker, and a Dad, I can't say I wasn't choked up at the end of that article and had plenty of tears in my eyes as I sat there looking at my perfect, healthy daughter. This is just another example: We in the technology sector spend a l

The short version is this: Python-Dev is working on the release we hope people are using in a few years , not the one we hope you use in a a few months . Python 2.7 will live for a long time (years) as a stable, bug-fixed release. There

There's nothing magic - but there are a ton of libraries which make it better than what's in core. I'd recommend taking a look at monocle, eventlet/greenlet, and the other libs out there rather than trying to go it alone.

I sincerely doubt google is working on their own Python VM, given they've invested some amount of resources in PyPy in the past, and most recently Unladen Swallow (merging into Python 3).

I love bpython. It's "just enough" for me, versus ipython, which feels like an 800lbs gorilla.
